I love it when life slots into place perfectly. A month ago I entered some photographs into the Martin Parr photography competition at Museum für Gestaltung in Zürich, and all the entrants are going to have their photographs displayed at the exhibition. So tomorrow, my wife and I are going to head over to Switzerland and see the work, which will be a massive thrill for me.
This morning I was just looking through some postcards that I bought last weekend at a charity shop - and found this one of Zurich! I shall have to see if we have time to visit - cable cars are one of my favourite things in the world.
I bought this Photax 35mm film purely for the box at the car boot sale a couple of weeks ago, but when I opened it up it would appear that the film has been used! Possibly a mystery film for me to discover… so I will be getting it processed when I get a chance.
I have been looking for one of these die-cast Kodak Vans for a while now, and I found one in a window display at a charity shop in Northwich yesterday. I also bought a couple of cameras that I will post here.
I now have several of the colour button / strap Polaroid 600’s (some are called Cool Cam). I bought this Mint coloured one at the car boot sale last weekend and it is available for SWAP | SHOP - so if you want to own it, email with something to swap, or an offer to buy it.
I picked up these wonderful Stereoscopic Cards from the car boot sale. When combined with a viewer, these cards would give a 3D view of the subject, a process called ‘Stereoscopy' from the early 1900's.
Last weekend I found this Konica Pop 35mm camera at the car boot sale and discovered it had a ‘mystery film’ left in it. Today I took it in to get it developed and got 2 photographs back. If you recognise any of the people in the photograph, then please get in contact and I can give you the prints!
This is the Polaroid Pronto! B that I swapped for a green button Polaroid 1000 with Ole Hongvanthong in Lancaster, USA.
If you would like to swap anything, look out for the little SWAP | SHOP symbol in the top left hand corner of my images. If you have something you’d like to swap or you’d like to buy an item, then email me (the link is on this page).
I had a really good day at the car boot sale today and getting some great bargains. The best was this Argus c-four rangefinder camera. Argus models are quite popular in the in US, but not widely available in the UK - so this was a rare find.
I bought this Adler Typewriter at the car boot sale a few weeks ago for my friend and neighbour Jenny from House Knutsford. Jenny and Guy just came around for a cup of tea and chat about their new business venture that sounds really interesting and hopefully something I can help out with in the future.
She was really pleased the with the typewriter and I know it is going to a good home.
